ABOUT DR. KIMBERLY

Brayman ART

Dr. Kimberly Brayman

Through emotion-led abstract realism, I paint the mesas, symbols and shifting inner horizons of the human path--guided by the Explorer's path and a desire to reveal the Light We All Carry.

Painting the Light We Carry

Artist Bio

Kimberly Brayman is a Canadian-American painter whose distinctive style of Abstract Realism blends emotional depth with expressive color and texture. Dividing her time between Denver, Dubai, and British Columbia, she holds dual citizenship and a Golden Visa from the United Arab Emirates recognizing her cultural contributions to the arts.

Her multidisciplinary background as a psychologist, nurse, and chef deepens her work with empathy and complexity. Her paintings merge figurative realism with abstract mark-making, layered washes, and symbolic motifs such as butterflies, ravens, and horses—visual metaphors for transformation, resilience, and freedom.

Her influences span Realism, Expressionism, and Fauvism, while her process embraces intuition, spontaneity, and the unexpected. Radiant jewel tones, fluid movement, and emotional resonance define her work. Across cultures and subjects, Brayman’s art reflects her guiding philosophy: “Painting the light we all carry.”

Brayman studied privately with Canadian painter Bonnie Rogers, completed the Art Mastery Program at the Milan Art Institute, and will continue her training at the Angel Academy of Art in Florence, Italy in 2025. She exhibits internationally, with installations in Denver and Dubai, and is a member of the Central Park Artists Association in Denver.

Painting the Light We All Carry

Artist Statement

I create vivid, mixed-media portraits that explore the emotional landscapes we all share. Color is my language—bold jewel tones, luminous glazes, and intuitive mark-making that reflect the resilience, tenderness, and inner fire found in people across cultures and experiences.

Each painting begins with expressive, unpredictable layers: acrylic washes, stencils, spray paint, and gestural marks that mirror the beauty and chaos of life. From this foundation, a figure emerges—not as a literal copy, but as an emotional presence shaped by intuition and feeling. Oils add depth and luminosity, revealing the layered stories within the human spirit.

My background as a psychologist and my travels—from Tanzania and Croatia to Dubai and Japan—influence the way I see humanity. Whether I’m painting an elder etched by time, a young woman caught between worlds, or a figure who arrived through meditation, I’m drawn to the spark of connection that transcends culture and circumstance.

My work invites viewers to look deeper—into another’s story, and into their own.
